A teardown of the existing house was required due to the age and condition of the structure, allowing the reuse of its nonconforming location.
The L-shaped layout of the house maximized the irregular shape of the lot, and with the position of the detached garage it creates an open court for the intimate lawn and pool area. Mixed siding of stucco and cedar adds charm to the traditional lines of a gambrel roof with a modern design sensibility.
